the robot below was a study for a book cover (above) for Karel Capeks R.U.R as part of U16's Literary illuminations activity. The story written as a play in 1922 covers the struggle between robot and man and is full of great between the lines imagery .. its also the first time the word ROBOT was used

THE VOLCANO
One day in my dream I was in a volcano. Inside the volcano there was a very pretty island with a lot of trees with very red apples. When I was about to pick one apple, a rabbit appeared and told me not to pick it. I ignored him and the volcano erupted, and then I woke up.
